WEEK 3
To-Do List
1. Collaborate with team and create a power point presentation for the project showcase at the next OSHE meeting.
- The powerpoint should be somewhat specific to what we want to accomplish over this semester.
2. Meet with team to decide form factor of FFF prototype.
- This will go hand-in-hand with the powerpoint when it comes to generating the specifics of what the project should look like this semester.
3. Start testing with octoprint and a spare ender 3 that I have.
4. Do more research on other MMU’s to draw inspiration from.
Concerns
1. I am mildly concerned that I will not be as helpful to the team as I would like to be.
2. That our team will be able to develop feasible plan of attack for the FFF project.
3. That we will have enough time in the semester to accomplish what we want.
WEEK 4
Last Week’s Accomplishments
1. Created a powerpoint that went into our project’s goals and background for the last OSHE meeting.
2. Had multiple meetings with the team and fleshed out a general idea of how our prototype will work and how its housing will be designed.
3. Started some basic testing with octoprint, how its plugin system works, and the magnitude of control it can have over multiple printers.
4. Did a lot of research on other MMU projects and came to a baseline conclusion on how the material switcher will work.
5. Ordered some of the parts that will be needed for the first prototype.
To-Do List
1. Start drafting for the filament housing in CAD.
- Create a team in Fusion360.
- Assign which parts of the model everyone will work on.
2. Begin testing with the filament dryer system when we receive the parts.
3. Solidify if we are going to be using a second 3d printer motherboard or a motor controller with scripts.
4. Meet with team and discuss CDR and the specifics of when that’s happening.
5. Decide what type of extruder the printer will need to have and what will go along with that.
- Will we have to add some sort of retrofit?
Concerns
1. Slightly concerned that the parts we ordered will end up not working.
2. Worried about time management in between my other classes.
3. That the entire plugin idea with octoprint will be too slow or not work altogether.
WEEK 5
Last Week’s Accomplishments
1. Created a team, however we are using OnShape now instead of Fusion360.
2. Began to block out a basic model in CAD.
3. Received some of the parts we ordered.
To-Do List
1. Finish a rough draft for the housing of FFF.
2. Complete the powerpoint for CDR.
3. Order additional parts we need.
4. Meet with team multiple times this week to solidify project.
Concerns
1. Slightly concerned that the parts we ordered will end up not working.
2. It is getting difficult juggling classes and work.
