Tyler Blazoff Work Log 3

Project Update 7

  • My own work was quite light this week for open mobility, Alex combined the parts of our previous KiCAD schematics to be made into a PCB, so I focused more on other OSHE things this week, like volunteering and fulfilling my outreach requirements. I also participated in a brief brainstorming session for my group’s social media post.
    • This next week I’ll likely be breadboarding our circuit together depending on when parts get here to make sure our PCB would work as intended.
    • I’ll also likely solidify our social media post a little more
    • Possibly start working on final presentation?
  • Next week will be rough as far as time goes but I’ll have to make due with tuesday and Friday, I’m getting lifeguard certified through the class which only runs through the week. Not very OSHE related but just reduces my bandwidth greatly

Project Update 8

  • Met with group about going forward plans
  • Met in person Saturday morning to solder IC as well as find possible backups in case of the worst
  • “Aided” Alex in breadboarding but that would be generous

TODO

  • Meet in lab tuesday morning and continue work on physical circuit
  • Continue with group on ideas for board integration
  • Try to get some deliverables ready to present, make easy for Shane

Project Update 9

  • Finish up pcb designs, won’t be able to print them
  • Had to make my own footprint and symbol for ESP, now I know how to do that
  • Help solder things together as needed
  • Otherwise be there for last minute brainstorming/work divvying
  • Get things primed up to present Thursday

This picture is what we’re using for our social media post, but it should be noted that the wheels and trucks are not 3d printed and are bought off the shelf.

Project update 10

  • I successfully made pcb designs that will greatly decrease the effort in making this design again if we had to
  • Saturday I went in to help get our remaining 15 points for the project
  • Thursday went pretty well, got 80/100 points, I was stressed out so that was helpful
  • I think I get a decent picture of what’s expected of me come time for me to graduate, and what kind of difficulties can happen along the way
