- I’m unsure how to properly utilize the KiCad library in a way that other users can easily use and understand.
9/13/2024 Weekly Update
The picture below is my interpretation of what the BREAD Loaf will look like following the implementation of CAN
To-do List
- Get ide set up for esp32 development
- Get familiar with Espressif’s CAN library
- Assist with testing once transceivers are delivered
- Meet with recycle bot to discuss rewind control slice and find out way to model system (idle goal)
My concerns for the week
- Last semester digikey lost our order, I’m hoping that doesn’t happen again
4/13/2024 Weekly Update
Parts have come in, currently working on finalizing PCB design and schematic
To-do List
- Find out if PCB is safe enough for 120VAC in
My concerns for this week are mainly if design needs extra safety equipment
3/16/2024 Weekly Update
Parts have come in, currently working on debugging ACS37800 library on Arduino Nano rp2040 connect, circuit has been built on breadboard. 9v AC/DC converter has been soldered to phoenix connector for safer and easier testing.
To-do List
- Find out how to read volatile memory on ACS
- Find out how to process error codes on digital io pins
- Find appropriate fuse and 1Mohm resistors
My concerns for this week are mainly if the arduino library that was found does not work.
3/9/2024 Weekly Update
Parts have not yet come in
To-do List
- Finalize Ki-cad schematic
- Finish footprint
- Make prototype housing
My concerns for this week remain the same as the last few weeks as the parts are yet to come in yet.
2/17/2024 Weekly Update
Parts are slowly coming in, still not all of them are in yet, schematic has been put together but there are some issues with styling (ex. four way nodes, wrong footprints).
To-do List
- Gather parts and begin assembly
- Refine Ki-cad schematic, begin pcb layout
- Download open source 3d modeling software and begin model for housing
My concerns for this week remain the same as last week as the parts are yet to come in yet.
2/10/2024 Weekly Update
There is not much to be done at the moment as we are currently waiting for parts to come in.
To-do List
- Gather parts and begin assembly
- Finish Ki-Cad schematic
My biggest concern right now is the correctness of the parts coming in, I’m fairly sure I got everything but there’s always a chance that I could have ordered the wrong part.
2/03/2024 Weekly Update
Last week I believe was fairly successful being that the components that we needed for testing have been ordered.
To-do List
- Verify if order that was placed is completely correct
- When new components come in, begin assembly
- Begin Making Ki-Cad schematic
My biggest concern is that the transformer we purchased is going to work correctly for our use case. Other than that It just comes down to doing some testing.
